  • Given the task of writing scripts to automate frequently used functionality such as the building of their products, the backup of the company's source code, archiving their backups and providing a web interface to a listing of the archives. This was done using Unix shell scripting for the product development in C and command line DOS for Java.

• Computer Science - BA(Mod) Second Class, First Division (2.1) Honours. Finished in top third of my year.
• Final Year Project: Location Specific Advertising for Mobile Phones. Involved the simulated sending of advertisement to mobile phones. The application sent the ads to simulated mobile phones moving around a geographical area dependent on their proximity to shops with goods or services relevant to the mobile phone user's profile. The User Interface sent out XML requests defining geographical areas to a production Ordinance Survey map server run by the Irish company MapFlow, who specialize in Location Based Services, and received maps relevant to the area of the simulation the user wished to view.
